The habits of Internet browsing are evolving at very fast pace. More and more users are connecting to the internet from their mobile devices. In a press release from the Asociación para la Investigación de Medios de Comunicación (AIMC) confirm that mobile devices are the main element of internet connection. 9 out of 10 users use mobile devices to connect to the Internet. This paragraph alone highlights the importance of adaptive websites.

Mobile phones, especially since the emergence of so-called smartphone devices, including tablets, is the technology that has reached more people in less time in the history of mankind.

Today, web pages should be ready to be browsed from any mobile device, allowing friendly navigation from a Smartphone or from a tablet. It is not a whim, it is a pleasant viewing and browsing theme. The user will prefer a simple and attractive navigation, which allows him to visualize what he is looking for in simple steps. The good user experience will surely guarantee your return and new visits to our website.

It is important to note that it is not only important to be able to view a website from a mobile device. The adaptive web design or responsive design, uses techniques that allow you to detect the type of device that connects to the website and thus offer the best navigation possibilities and usability for the screen size of the device that connects: PC, Smartphone, Tablet or Smart TV.

The increased consumption of the internet through mobile devices demonstrates the importance of having a good visibility and adaptability of the website. Responsive design technology allows users to optimize the user's experience in finding and buying a product or service, in one place and with the device that the user wants to use.

I take this opportunity to present some interesting data from the Ditrendia 2016 Report that will confirm my view on the importance of having a responsive website:

- By the end of 2015 the penetration of mobile devices in the world amounted to 97%. The number of mobile devices globally reached 7.9 billion.
- Global purchases through mobile devices (m-commerce) are growing almost three times more than traditional e-commerce.
- The mobile appears more and more frequently throughout the processes of online purchase worldwide. 82% of mobile device users claim that they use their mobile phones to search for information about products or services before making a purchase.
- 86% of Marketing Managers believe that their campaigns through mobile devices are effective or very effective.

And as for the Internet of Things or IOT, the same report mentions the following:

- It is estimated that in 2020 there will be more than 50 billion connected devices in the world (adding all categories).
